Baking powder – 1 tsp

Butter – 100 grams

Baking soda – 1 tsp

Aerated soda – 200 ml

Vanilla Essence – 1 tsp

Cocoa powder – 25 grams or 3 to 4 tbsp

Fresh cream – 200 grams

Cherries (fresh or tin) – as per preference

Milk chocolate – 50 grams

Powdered sugar/icing sugar – 2 tsp

Process:

Step 1: Firstly, switch on the oven and preheat at 180 ℃. Then, take a baking tin and grease it with butter. Take all-purpose flour or maida and then dust it. Now, take a bowl and sieve baking powder, baking soda, cocoa powder, and maida.

Step 2: Take a bowl and add some butter to it. Simply soften it. Make sure it is not melted. Pour in the Nestlé MILKMAID and whisk it properly. Ensure no lumps are formed. Thereafter, take the maida mixture that we prepared in step 1 and mix it with this. Alternatively, add aerated soda until all the soda and maida are used.

Step 3: Take the baking tin which was greased earlier. Pour the entire batter into it and place it in the preheated oven for a duration of 40 to 50 minutes. Before it is ready, prick a toothpick in the center of the cake. If it comes out clean, it means that the cake is baked. Take it out of the oven and let it cool.

Step 4: Once the cake is cooled down, take a knife and rotate clockwise to lose its edges. Take a plate and invert the baking tin. The cake will lose its edges and simply come out on the plate.

Step 5: Take cherries, soak them in water, and destone them; drain the water. Prepare a cherry syrup and soak both the cake halves. Take the cream and whip it. Add sugar to it. Whip it until it is fluffy and light. Spread this between both layers of the cake. Add grated milk chocolate, cherries, and whipped cream to the cake. Place it in the refrigerator. Let it chill and serve it at the party.
