Parents, on the other hand, should be knowledgeable about the kind of toys their children should play with.

When purchasing toys for your younger children, keep these things in mind:
Take a look at the information on the package.
Read the cautions on the package if there are any. These cautions should specify the toy’s recommended age range. Please don’t purchase an item you think your kid will outgrow before you make sure you explain them how it works before they start using it.
Consider the big picture.
The risk of choking on little bits is quite real. To prevent your kid from ingesting potentially dangerous bits, the AAP suggests choosing toys that are bigger than your child’s mouth.
Toys that hurl things into the air should be avoided.
While it may seem self-evident, you should be aware that these toys have the potential to inflict significant eye damage.
Toys that make a lot of noise should be avoided.
Toys that make loud sounds should be avoided for the sake of your child’s ears as well as your own sanity. Rather than taking a chance, it’s essential to keep your child’s hearing protected.
Look for well-made plush animals.
You’re aiming for crisp, tight seams with no slack. Remove any unnecessary ribbons or strings from your child’s clothing. If the little plastic pellets fall out of the toy, it’s dangerous for your youngster to ingest them. Also, look for plush animals that can be washed in the washing machine. Buy sturdier plastic toys.

When purchasing toys for the baby’s crib, use caution.
For crib toys, stay away from anything that might cause asphyxia, trapping, or strangling for the baby. Soft and loose bedding are included in this category. And what about those cell phones? When your kid is pushing up on their hands, or at least 5 months old, you must remove them from the house.
