Nearly everything is easier to do from home in 2022. We can do more than just work from home (which many of us still do full-time) – we can also learn, shop, communicate, and do much more without ever leaving the house. So why shouldn’t the same be true about getting fit?

Gyms and the fees to join them are not for everyone. They are often crowded, loud, and scary, and it takes a long time to get there and back. The good news is you can set up your own fitness studio right at home with just a few simple purchases. Read on to find out what you need to make your own great home gym that you’re sure to want to use.

Your Budget

Although getting the right equipment is crucial (and that equipment will somewhat depend on the results you’re aiming for in terms of your fitness), the first thing you’ll need to do is know your budget. Prices can go from low to very high, and if you don’t know how much you have to spend, you might only be able to buy one expensive piece of equipment. Although that can work, it is usually better to buy more but cheaper ones – in that way you can have a varied workout.

If you look at the home gym packages on sale at Mirafit, you’ll get a good idea of cost and what you might need in terms of your equipment, so this is a good place to start.

Get A Mat

If you want to work out at home, you have to have a mat. There are really two different kinds: a yoga mat and a jump mat. The second one is a little bit thicker and is used for harder exercises like plyometric training and core work. If you want a little more cushioning, you can also use it as a yoga mat.

Dumbbells

Dumbbells are one of the best things you can add to your home gym. Not only are they small enough to fit into a limited space (because even the best home gyms are going to be fairly small, at least compared to a professional gym), but they are also great for all kinds of strength training exercises. Dumbbells can be used to strengthen arms, legs, and your core, so with just one piece of equipment, you can do a lot of good for your body.

Exercise Bike

You can get a good cardio workout on an exercise bike without putting too much stress on your knees. Cycling also strengthens your thighs and hamstrings. Compared to other exercise equipment (like treadmills) exercise bikes take up less space. If you don’t have much room, you can get one that folds up and stores away when it’s not in use.

Resistance Bands

This is another essential piece of fitness equipment that everyone should have in their home gym. Resistance bands are a definite must-have for any gym because they don’t take up much space, can be used in many ways, and are cheap. They come in a range of resistance levels, from very light to very heavy, so you can always find something that will challenge you.
